You need a valid license to use the devices with full functionality and image analysis. When your license expires, you can still use the Lux2 and Lux3 devices by employing the offline experiment function. This mode stores raw images directly on the connected laptop without uploading them to the Axion Portal. However, it's important to be aware that the following advantages provided by the Axion Portal will not be accessible in the offline mode: image processing capabilities, image quantification with integrated Analysis Algorithms, and unlimited remote data storage.
To initiate an offline experiment, follow these steps:
- Open the Axion application on your laptop.
- Locate and click on the "Mode" option within the application.
- From the drop-down menu, select the "Switch to Offline Mode" option.
- Start an experiment and locate your raw images in the folder: C:\ProgramData\CytoSmartService\Images.
Note: this feature is exclusive to the Lux devices and is not applicable to Omni systems. These systems require an active license for various functions, including snapshot uploading and image stitching.
